ABOUT SOLOMON
Solomon Shields is a Kansas City native and emerging documentary filmmaker with a growing body of work centered on shining a light on issues and stories overlooked by the masses, and giving a voice to those who do not feel they have one.
After earning his degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2020, Shields began his career at the Black Archives of Mid-America, located in Kansas City's historic 18th and Vine District. He later joined the Minnesota-based production company Winter State Entertainment, further honing his skills in writing, producing, and directing.
With two years of documentary experience, Shields is driven by a deep commitment to amplifying the stories of those impacted by systemic injustice. His work aims to confront uncomfortable realities, challenge dominant narratives, and spark critical conversations.
